With over a thousand islands to sail to, Croatia has everything from barely inhabited places like the beautiful Olib to places to see and be seen like celebrity hot spot Hvar. Weather you want to party, relax or immerse yourself in its enriched history, Croatia will not disappoint. You can pick between exciting open seas for a challenge or sheltered calm waters for a more relaxing holiday.

We recommend starting / finishing from Split or Zadar, they're both easy to get to and serve as a great base to get to some fantastic destinations. Sailing around Croatia is great from May - September. Our personal preference is to go in June and September, its less crowded and the water temperature is perfect!

Things to do

Start in Split: Split (Spalato in Italian) really is the best way to see Dalmatian living.

The city has just the right balance of tradition and modern ascomforts. Home of Diocletian’s Palace (a Unesco World Heritage site and one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments) there is no shortage of bars, restaurants and shops inside the old walls where life has been ticking along for thousands of years. Split has a unique setting. Its dramatic coastal mountains are the perfect compliment to the the Adriatic

Nearest airports are Split (20 minutes drive) and Zadar (60 minutes drive)

Start in Zadar: Starting from here, you can get to the well known Kornati national park with so many bays, anchorages and marinas.

One of our favourite restaurants there is Core-Kornati, perfect for lunch and sunset gazing, make sure you bring cash though, there's no internet signal for a card reader!

Heading north from here also gets you to some less explored and uninhabited islands.
